The loan application asks for information on the property, terms of the purchase contract, employment and financial history. The lender will verify everything, so submit a complete and accurate application.
Prepare ahead of time by gathering:
Verification of Employment (VOE): The lender will verify your employment and earnings. If you've been on the job less than two years, previous employers will also be contacted.
Additional Income Sources: Rental property, social security, disability payments, child support β provide canceled checks, leases, or court documents as proof.
Checking, savings, money market accounts with institution details and balances
Stocks, bonds, CDs, retirement funds, life insurance cash value
Make, model, year of automobiles; all real estate owned with details
Verifications of Deposit (VOD): The lender will verify your account balances. Differences between reported and provided balances must be reconciled.
Gift Funds: Gifts from relatives may be used for down payment, but must be verified in writing with a letter stating no repayment is expected.
Itemize all current bills, loans, and other debts:
